Support Cornell Democrats
Thank you in advance for your support of our organization in whatever capacity suits you. If you are interested in making a monetary contribution, your donation will go towards our organization's efforts to fight for our progressive values.
Your Contribution Supports:
Elections
Due to our extensive on-campus Get Out The Vote efforts (including voter registration, canvassing, local phone banking, and 8 hours of coordinated rides to the polls) student voting increased 20% in the 2016 election. With your help, this number can go even higher. Our efforts range from campaigning for Democrats to Ithaca’s Local County Legislature to campaigning in swing states during the presidential election.
Advocacy
By giving students the opportunity to meet with their elected officials, students can voice their opinions on causes that matter to Democrats. In recent years, we have attended town halls, rallies, and protests, and visited State Senate and House members to express our thoughts on problems facing the nation.
Social Events
The Cornell Dems arrange social events for members, including dinners, formals and date nights. We make sure that Democrats at Cornell don’t just make a difference in their community, but also have a blast with new lifelong friends.
Speakers
The Dems have had the pleasure of hosting Mayor Svante Myrick, Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton, civil rights/liberties lawyer Norman Siegel and NY assemblyman and DNC vice chair Michael Blake, as well as candidates for races up and down Tompkins County such as Ithaca County Judge Scott Miller, and NY23 congressional candidate Tracy Mitrano. We would like to continue to invite Speakers from local politics as well as from the national stage in order to enhance political discussion on Cornell's campus, and and without your support that will not be possible.
