Bingo, Voter Registration and ‘Meet the Candidates’: How Cornellians Watched the Presidential Debate

Partnering with Students for New York and Phi Alpha Delta, Cornell Democrats/StudentsForHarris kicked off election season with the 2024 Presidential Debate Watch Party. The watch party brought students throughout the Cornell community together, with over 200 students packed in Goldwin Smith Hall’s Kaufmann Auditorium.

Cornell Democrats President Niles Hite ‘26 stressed the importance of a new way forward after the debate, stating:

“We should be trying to make policies that benefit the new people that are coming into [the] melting pot, [who] are making this place as wonderful as it is, not focusing on division”

Moreover, Cornell Democrats Vice President Saad Razzak ‘26 reaffirmed,

“I think after tonight it should be clear to everybody, anybody that’s on the fence, any Democrat who [is] not sure about voting, that there is one right choice for America,”
